The Round Seat is for the PA who is invaluable to Mrs T and the CEO. The wobbly seats are for those chosen by the CEO who can wobble and wibble as much as they like!

Congratulations to all our Triathletes who competed in the WeetBix Triathlon on the Weekend - you are great ambassadors for our school!

Alex and Lockie are caring for our Tiger Worms at the moment! The Staff room worm bin and Middle Syndicate Worm Bin are emptied into here along with water and shredded card. 

It's a dirty job and you have to be brave with those tiger worms roaring at you! Such brave Eco Warriors!

Here is our Korowai all complete with feathers describing what a member of Whanau 20 needs to be. Underneath are our Whare with Kowhaiwhai patterns chosen to surround photos of our Whanau pictures. 

We all have a role to play in our class and these are important roles for everyone to take responsibility for. Use your initiative and be self managing.

Chapter Chat has a following of 100 schools (that was the limit)! We are reading Tuesdays at the Castle and have been answering the questions and discussing the book as Mrs T reads it to us. We are also doing Reading based activities each week around the book. Check out the postings on Facebook as Mr Lorenzen (coordinator of Chapter Chat 7 Y3/4, a teacher at Wellsford School) has posted our Castle Wall of new WOW words as one of the highlights of the week! Go Terrific 20!

Every Friday morning we are learning to participate in this giant book club that is Chapter Chat and tweet our answers to some of the week's questions and respond to other schools' tweets. This week the Fantails group made up a template on their Google Docs to plan our tweets. They worked collaboratively on this with Mrs T's help. You can take a look at this on their Google Docs under Reading. Another Reading group will add to this document this week.

It was really exciting to participate in a live event and see the posts go up on the interactive board right before our eyes! So we are so proud of ourselves for trying something new that not only improves our Reading but also connects us to other parts of New Zealand.

As part of  our focus on Whanaungatanga (relationships) we have been talking about our Whanau and where we come from with our new classmates. 

We have completed our Mihi which introduce our families and where we come from using a Te Reo framework. Now we have begun to share photographs of our close whanau with the class. Thank you to all those families who have shared a picture already! If you would prefer to email a photo to Mrs T she can print it out for your child.

A wave sneaks up to catch my toes...art for our poem.

First we painted a blue/white/purple toned sea. We chose cool colours.

Then we stuck on brown paper pieces for the sand. That took a long time so it was great to help each other out!

It was a fun activity to do in the hot afternoons last week. We could chat to our neighbour and get to know them.

Next we have to stick on our colorfully painted jandals! We wanted to finish them before families came to the PTA Picnic!

Swimming starts Friday Week 1!

We will be having swimming Tuesdays and Fridays so get those swimming bags ready with named goggles, towel and togs! It is before lunch so you may want to pack sunblock to reapply before going to play again.
