Do you think you could try bread making at home? Compare it to the bread you buy from a shop.

Andreas is very keen to watch the reaction! It's Food Science!

Accurate measuring Max!

Robert is beginning to knead the dough.

Valentina cuts the dough into pieces ready for each person to roll into a ball.

Each ball is rolled in melted butter and placed in the tray ready to bake.

Everyone is quietly eating!

Proud bakers today Jack and Quinn!

Diamon is a super star at drying up!

Warm and steamy - we blow on our baking and break it open - yum!

Baking Bread the traditional way! Technology we can always use.

Mixing the yeast/ sugar/ warm water concoction with the first lot of flour and salt and leaving to rise.

Alex and Karlia ready the trays.

 .

Lauren and Rose start to mix in the flour.

Time to get kneading!

Another group's batch is ready to rise on top of the warm stove.

Erin and Franca have started the next bowl of yeast and sugar. Now Athena, Tiffany, Leena and Felicia are ready to mix flour into a bowl with salt.

Golden, brown, hot bread rolls ready to eat!

Busy days leading up to the end of term 3! Teach the teacher from Karlia, Quinn and Ruby!

Karlia showed us how to make faces on top of biscuits. It was a super demonstration thank you  -along with your slide show of instructions you could run a cooking school Karlia!

Ruby showed us a very interesting experiment involving dissolving of colour. It was very controlled and involved good listening as well as observation skills!

Next Quinn had to move his soccer skills indoors as it started to rain but he can continue his lesson next term when hopefully it will be drier! Great work Quinn - we are improving I think?!

Lockie, Diamon and Karlia have been working in a Language Group and have improved their skills so much they received certificates for their efforts! Super independent learning guys! Keep it up!

STEM challenge this week!

Can you design a container for holding popcorn at the movies that can stand up and prevents spillage?

1st - we made an origami prototype to hook us in! In groups of 3 we listed the pros and cons of this simple design.
2nd - Then we brainstormed and made a prototype of a container from paper which tried to use the pros and change the cons!
3rd - we made a final design and were able to use sellotape or staples as well as folding to hold it together.

Here are our designs - spot the handles, flat surfaces, curved surfaces
spot the fill holes, the lids, the folded shapes

Today Mrs T brought some popcorn to truly test our designs - Great Mindset everyone this week. It was interesting to see how different your ideas were which showed me how creative you are. There was lots of collaboration and patience displayed. You maintained a positive manner which meant you could state how your design worked and what improvements could be made next time.

Thank you to Karlia for being out photographer.
