Lockie has taught us how to make crayon backgrounds and paint them over with black paint. Then we let them dry over the weekend and we have scratched our designs into them with skinny sticks - now hey presto! Fireworks!
Welcome to Room 20's blog for 2017. We are an energetic Year 3/4 class and our teacher is Mrs Trembath. We are looking forward to working together and learning lots of exciting and new things this year! Check our blog regularly to see what we have been up to. We would love to read your comments.

Literacy Week sees our Author in Residence - Stu Duval
Our first session was on writing and making stories from story telling. Stu told us the story of Rat Island which he told his sons and then wrote a book about it.
Stu also showed us how he draws his illustrations with chalk pastels and drew a stunning picture of Skull Island!
In his second session he demonstrated cartooning to us all and had us spellbound as he directed quite simply how to create pictures from lines and squiggles!

A wave sneaks up to catch my toes...art for our poem.
First we painted a blue/white/purple toned sea. We chose cool colours. |
Then we stuck on brown paper pieces for the sand. That took a long time so it was great to help each other out! |
It was a fun activity to do in the hot afternoons last week. We could chat to our neighbour and get to know them. |
Lovely sharing of equipment - thank you! |
Next we have to stick on our colorfully painted jandals! We wanted to finish them before families came to the PTA Picnic! |
If you missed the PTA Picnic, when you come along to your child's Home/School Partnership Conference, you will be able to view the finished paintings!
